After over a decade of exposure to the elements, this historic building in the heart of Belfast City Center was in need of a comprehensive restoration.

Our team was tasked with rejuvenating the structure while preserving its classic charm.

Here's how we achieved this stunning transformation:

Step 1: Comprehensive Cleaning and Surface Preparation

To begin, we treated the building's walls with an anti-fungicide solution to eliminate any mould or mildew that had accumulated over the years. Next, our team used a power washer to thoroughly remove dirt, grime, and debris from the surface. To ensure safe access to all areas, a licensed operator utilised a cherry picker, allowing us to reach every corner of the building.

Step 2: Securing and Sealing

Once the building was cleaned, we moved on to securing the structure. This involved sealing the entire building to bind any loose areas and provide a stable foundation for the restoration work to follow.

Step 3: Repairs and Reinforcement

With the building secured, we repaired and filled all damaged sections. This crucial step ensured the structural integrity of the building and prepared it for the final protective layers. After repairs were completed, we applied a secondary sealant to reinforce the durability of the restoration.

Step 4: Finishing Touches for Longevity and Appeal

To complete the project, we applied two top coats of Johnstone’s Paints, carefully selected by the client. The final layer was an exterior satin coat, designed to not only enhance the building’s appearance but also to protect it against future weathering and wear.

The building now stands refreshed and fortified, showcasing a durable, long-lasting finish that beautifully complements its historic character. This restoration project not only improved the building’s appearance but also extended its lifespan, ensuring it remains a prominent feature of Belfast City Center for years to come.
